Power Up Your Mind and Body
Get ready to Recharge with Castlight and earn points! Recharge is a team-based journey designed to guide you toward better emotional well-being. Learn how to better manage stress through a series of fun and interactive activities that help you build skills, improve positive thinking and connect with others. Cheer on your teammates as you individually complete activities and unlock new levels for your team – complete all 10 levels by trying each healthy habit to finish the journey.
HOW IT WORKS
Create or join a team by February 8. Journey runs February 9 – 23.
Form a team of 2-4 or ask to be placed on a team. Looking for teammates? Invite your co-workers to the challenge! And remember, your covered spouse/domestic partner can participate, too.
ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE JOURNEY
Recharge encourages teams to complete all 10 levels of mindfulness activities, along with daily breathing exercises and written reflections, designed to help you build skills, improve positive thinking and relieve stress. Focus on completing one new activity every 1-2 days to stay on track and complete all 10 by journey’s end. And if your teammates unlock new stages before you are ready, don’t stress, you can always return to previous levels and participate at your own pace! You’ll explore:

Level 1
Unwind with Deep Breathing
Breathing has a positive impact on stress, anxiety and mental health overall. This deep breathing technique can help you relax when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
- Choose a breathing exercise

- Do it at your own pace, on your own time – and at any level of the journey!

Level 2
Sound Sessions
Listening to music positively impacts your mood and body. Discover more about how this simple activity can brighten your day.
- Write down 3 songs that make you feel good

Level 3
Build Gratitude Attitude
Gratitude helps us recognize there are good things in the world. Practice identifying what you’re thankful for in today’s activity.
- Identify 2-3 things you’re grateful for and why
- Write down your ideas
- Share your reflections with your team

Level 4
Green Exercise
Exercising outdoors has greater benefits than working out indoors. Find out why and get started with your own green exercise today.
- Do an outdoor workout
- Record your physical activity
- Share a workout selfie or exercise tip with your team

Level 5
Picture This
Visualizing a positive scene or event is even more powerful than positive thinking. Discover how you can harness this power in this activity.
- Think about a place that makes you happy

Level 6
Mantra
Certain phrases can help you overcome negative thinking. Use this technique to feel better and relieve stress.

Mood Food
What we eat affects how we feel. Get to grips with the mood-boosting power of your favorite foods in this activity.

Window Gaze
Window gazing is a simple mindfulness activity that can help the state of both body and mood.
- Pick a window in your space
- Spend 5 minutes gazing through it
- Write down what you see

Level 9
Connect with a Friend or Family Member
Social connections improve emotional and mental wellbeing. Use this activity to recognize and appreciate a loved one who gives you support that makes you feel good.

Level 10
Looking Back, Looking Forward
Reflection is a powerful tool that can help us better understand ourselves and the world around us. Write down your answers to these questions in this final activity.

WHO CAN JOIN
All U.S. employees are eligible to join Recharge through Castlight. If your spouse/domestic partner is covered on an Abbott medical plan, they can join the journey through Castlight, too!
