Spring Health is Abbott’s new mental health benefit for you and your family. Beginning July 1, all employees, household members and covered dependents age 6+ can access a suite of mental health services at no cost, making it easy, accessible and affordable to get the care you need. 

Abbott understands it can be hard to find the support you need on your own. Spring Health’s world-class, diverse network of providers ensures you get the support you need, when you need it, no matter where you are on your mental health journey.

STEP 1: CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT

Before you can start taking advantage of Spring Health’s services, you need to create an account. Covered dependents age 6-17 are tied to the employee account. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Access Spring Health through Castlight or visit Abbott.SpringHealth.com.
  2. Click the “ACTIVATE ACCOUNT” button.
  3. In the “Who is signing up” section, select the category that describes you.
    • If you are an Abbott employee, select “Me.”
      • Note: To create a child dependent (age 6-17) account – Select “Me” and you will be able to add a dependent after your account is confirmed.
    • If you are the spouse/domestic partner or dependent age 18+ of an Abbott employee select “Spouse, partner or dependent.”
  4. Enter your name, date of birth and preferred contact details. Spouses, partners or dependents may need to provide the name and date of birth of the employee to complete verification.
  5. Check the box that you have read Spring Health’s Electronic Communication Agreement and click “Next.”
  6. You will receive a verification email to your email address. Click “Activate Your Benefit.”
  7. A new window will open in your web browser where you will re-enter your email and click “Activate Your Benefit” to finish account creation.
  8. Once your benefits have been confirmed, follow the prompts to complete your registration.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE ASSESSMENT

After creating your account, you’ll be prompted to complete a brief personal assessment. The assessment, like all Spring Health interactions, is 100% confidential and helps provide you with a personalized Spring Health experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Spring Health provides a personalized experience, from accessing the platform in English and Spanish to tailored support based on a quick personal assessment. Once you have your Spring Health account, you can take advantage of:

  • Mental health resources and support
  • Six free therapy sessions per person, per year from trusted providers
  • Dedicated clinical experts
  • Digital tools and exercises
  • Medication management
  • 24/7 support during crisis situations

PERSONALIZE YOUR LANGUAGE

Spring Health’s provider network is comprised of 15 unique racial backgrounds speaking 28+ languages. In addition, 28% specialize in LGBTQ+ support. When you search for a provider, you’ll see tags that note what language they speak and can filter by desired language for the most-common options. You can also speak with your personalized Care Navigator, who will help you find a provider who best fits your needs.

IT’S FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL

There is no cost for you or your covered dependents age 6 and older to use Spring Health services. Six therapy sessions per person, per year, are also included at no cost but additional therapy sessions will be paid by the employee. If you’re enrolled in the Abbott HIP PPO or Traditional PPO medical plan, additional therapy beyond the six free sessions will be considered in-network. Spring Health interactions are 100% confidential and your personal details will not be shared with Abbott. Abbott will only be provided with group aggregate reporting to understand how participants are using the program.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

All employees (even those with waived coverage medical coverage), household members and covered dependents age 6+ are eligible to use Spring Health.

LIFEWORKS EAP COUNSELING

Because Abbott is introducing Spring Health, LifeWorks services will end starting July 1, 2022. If you currently use the LifeWorks Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for counseling services, you can continue doing so through the end of this year.
