Meet Castlight
Castlight Health is a leader in designing and administering employee well-being programs. Through the partnership with Castlight, Abbott offers you programs that fit your life and meet you wherever you are on your health journey.
Castlight gives you access to great programs to support your physical and emotional well-being, plus opportunities to earn rewards all year! Participation is 100% voluntary and 100% confidential.
Create a Castlight Account
You need a Castlight account in order to start earning rewards and exploring the great programs available, like the Wellness Assessment or free Health Screening. Castlight is available in many languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Portuguese, French, Korean, Russian, German, Thai, Turkish, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Malay and Polish.
Follow the steps below to register for Castlight:
- Visit mycastlight.com/abbott
- Create an account. You’ll need the following:

- Email address (personal or work) and mobile number (optional)
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Abbott UPI; spouses/domestic partners who are not Abbott employees add an “S” to the end of the employee’s number (ex: 1234567S), unless you are also an Abbott employee. In that case, create your account using your personal UPI (do not add an “S”) and when asked if you work for Abbott, select “No, I am a dependent.”
New hires: You must complete your medical benefits enrollment before registering on Castlight.
Note: If you do not receive the “Your Account is Ready” email from Castlight after 31 days from your date of hire or the date of being added to Abbott Medical Coverage, please contact Castlight Support at 844-711-7113. -
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
All U.S. employees are eligible to create a Castlight account and earn rewards, regardless of enrollment in an Abbott medical plan. If your spouse/domestic partner is covered on an Abbott medical plan, they can create an account, too!
Newly hired U.S. employees and their spouses/domestic partners are eligible to create an account and earn medical plan contributions savings in 2025, not 2024. However, you will need to first complete your 2024 New Hire Enrollment within your first 31 days of your date of hire. Castlight will receive your eligibility approximately 7-10 business days after submitting your elections. If you do not receive the “Your Account is Ready” email from Castlight after 31 days from your date of hire or the date of being added to Abbott Medical Coverage, please contact Castlight Support at 844-711-7113.
If you will be covering your spouse/domestic partner under the Abbott medical plan for the first time in 2025, they can create a Castlight account starting November 6, 2024.
REMOVING SPOUSE/DOMESTIC PARTNER
When you leave the company or remove your spouse or domestic partner from Abbott medical coverage for this year or next year, make sure they redeem any points first. The Castlight account will be deactivated within one week of submitting the change and your spouse/domestic partner will not be able to redeem Castlight points or access programs offered through Castlight once the account has been deactivated.
WHAT’S NEXT
Once you have your Castlight account, you’ll be prompted with some questions to help Castlight personalize the experience for you. For example, your health goals or areas of interest will tailor some of the information you see. However, you’ll still be able to access all available programs regardless of your responses, subject to benefit eligibility.
YOUR PRIVACY IS PROTECTED
All of the information in your Castlight account is completely confidential. Abbott will not have access to your personal health information. One of the reasons Abbott partners with Castlight, an independent company, is to help you feel confident personal results will not be reported to Abbott.
