Get Castlight and Earn Points

Castlight is your go-to for exploring Abbott programs that support your physical and emotional well-being. A spouse/domestic partner covered on an Abbott medical plan may also access resources through Castlight.

How to Get Castlight

  1. Create an account at mycastlight.com/abbott. You’ll need the following:
    • Email address (personal or work)
    • First and last name
    • Date of birth
    • Abbott UPI; spouses/domestic partners who are not Abbott employees add an “S” to the end of the employee’s number (ex: 1234567S), unless you are also an Abbott employee. In that case, create your account using your personal UPI (do not add an “S”) and when asked if you work for Abbott, select “No, I am a dependent.”

All U.S. employees are eligible to create a Castlight account and earn points, regardless of enrollment in an Abbott medical plan. If your spouse/domestic partner is covered on an Abbott medical plan this year, they can create an account, too. If you are enrolling your spouse or domestic partner in Abbott medical coverage for 2026 for the first time, they can create a Castlight account starting in January 2026.

Newly hired U.S. employees and their spouses/domestic partners are eligible to create a Castlight account; however, you will need to first complete your 2025 New Hire Enrollment within your first 31 days of your date of hire. Castlight will receive your eligibility after submitting your elections. You will be able to create an account approximately 7 business days after that date. If you do not receive the “Your Account is Ready” email from Castlight after 31 days from your date of hire or the date of being added to Abbott Medical Coverage, please contact Castlight Support at 844-711-7113.

HOW TO EARN 2026 WELLNESS CREDIT

Complete a single qualifying preventive care visit between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025, to save $300 on 2026 medical plan contributions (or $600 if your covered spouse/partner completes a visit, too).

QUALIFYING PREVENTIVE CARE VISITS:

  • Well Visit with a Primary Care Provider (PCP)
  • Breast cancer screening
  • Cervical cancer screening
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Osteoporosis screening
  • Prostate cancer screening

NOTE: Employees and covered spouses/partners may still complete the Health Assessment or Quest Biometric Health Screening, but they are NOT activities to earn the wellness credit toward 2026 medical plan contributions.

Plan Ahead: Your 2027 Savings Start Now
All U.S. employees and spouses/domestic partners enrolled in a 2026 Abbott medical plan are eligible to earn a wellness credit toward their 2027 medical plan contributions by completing an eligible preventive care visit between October 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026. See more details here.

Blue Cross Blue Shield and UnitedHealthcare

    • FROM JAN. 1, 2025 – DEC. 31, 2025
      Depending on when your claim is processed, your Castlight account will verify when the 2026 wellness credit is earned.
    • BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30, 2025
      Complete an eligible preventive care visit. Your Provider will submit the claim to your medical plan for payment, which can take up to 90 days. Please note: Given the time it may take for a claim to fully process, you must complete a visit by September 30, 2025, so it can be processed by December 31, 2025, to qualify for a 2026 wellness credit. Contact your Abbott Care Coordinators for any questions.
    • BY DECEMBER 31, 2025
      After the claim is processed for payment, completion of the visit will be verified with Castlight on your behalf by December 31. You do not need to submit anything to Castlight.

    DIDN’T USE YOUR ABBOTT MEDICAL PLAN AND/OR NEWLY ELIGIBLE in 2025

    • Already completed a preventive care visit?
      If you completed a qualifying preventive care visit, even under a different medical plan, between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025:

      • Contact your Abbott Care Coordinators for assistance and details on the documentation needed. Once the documentation is provided to your Abbott Care Coordinator, it will take 7-10 business days for evaluation.
      • If a qualifiable preventive care visit was completed, completion of the visit will be verified by the Abbott Care Coordinator with Castlight on your behalf.
    • Didn’t complete a preventive care visit between Oct. 1, 2024 and Sept. 30, 2025?
      You will have an opportunity to earn a wellness credit toward your 2027 medical plan contributions. See details below.

Surest

    • Complete an eligible preventive care visit before September 30, 2025. Provider will submit claim to your medical plan for payment, which can take up to 90 days. Contact Surest Member Services for any questions.
    • After the claim is processed for payment, completion of the visit will be verified with Castlight on your behalf by December 31. You do not need to submit anything to Castlight.
    • Your Castlight account will verify when the 2026 wellness credit is earned.

VERIFY WELLNESS CREDIT IN CASTLIGHT BY DEC. 31

After completing an eligible preventive care visit, your wellness credit will display in Castlight. It may take up to 90 days before you will see the completion displayed in Castlight, depending on your medical plan provider.

  • UHC & BCBS plan members: Completion of the visit will be verified by Quantum to Castlight for you by December 31, 2025.
  • Surest plan members: Completion of the visit will be verified by Surest to Castlight for you by December 31, 2025.
  • Regional plan members (Kaiser, Hawaii, Cigna Global): Contact your medical plan provider directly to learn what to do before December 31, 2025.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED A PREVENTIVE CARE VISIT?

Only preventive-coded medical claims are eligible for a wellness credit. If you discuss other medical issues with your provider during your visit, the claim may not be coded as “preventive.” Coverage can vary, so always confirm your specific coverage in advance.

Preventive Care Visit (Eligible for credit)

  • This type of visit is for a normal (routine) health check-up (screening).
  • Your doctor focuses on helping you to have good health by telling you things you can do to lower your chances of having health problems.
  • The new laws require most insurance companies to pay for some types of health screenings. You should check with your insurance company about what your plan might cover.

Office Visit (NOT Eligible for credit)

  • This type of a visit is to see your doctor because you are sick, you have a new health problem, or to follow up with your doctor on an existing condition.
  • Office visits may include talking about changes in your health and what to do about it (for example, you might need to change your medication, have a test, or see a different type of doctor that is a specialist).

Preventive Care Visit WITH an Office Visit (Confirm coverage with your provider)

  • During your preventive care visit, if you talk to your doctor about being sick, a new health problem, or an existing condition that requires treatment, you might have to pay for part of this visit.
  • Confirm coverage with your provider for preventive care eligibility.

COMMON FAQS

Does a biometric screening with Quest Diagnostics qualify for the wellness credit?

    No. Employees may still complete a biometric screening with Quest and the online Health Assessment in Castlight, but they do not qualify to earn the wellness credit toward 2026 medical plan contributions.

Is there a form or questionnaire to fill out for my preventive care visit?

    When you use your Abbott medical plan for your preventive care visit, there is no form or questionnaire to fill out.

    Your Provider will submit the claim to your medical plan for payment, which can take up to 90 days. After the claim is processed for payment, completion of the visit will be verified with Castlight on your behalf by December 31. You do not need to submit anything to Castlight.

    Here are some exceptions:

    • Didn’t use your Abbott medical plan:
      If you completed a preventive care visit under a different medical plan, you will need to submit proof of your preventive care to earn the 2026 credit. Learn more based on your current Abbott medical plan – see above.
    • Kaiser, Cigna Global Health, or Hawaii HMSA plan members:
      Attest you completed a qualifying preventive care visit by logging into your Castlight account. Castlight will then update and verify the 2026 wellness credit is earned.

I already completed a preventive care visit under a different medical plan. Who should I contact to see if it counts?

    If you completed a qualifying preventive care visit, even under a different medical plan, between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, you will need to provide additional details before December 31, 2025, for the visit to count toward a 2026 wellness credit.

    Who to contact and/or what details to submit will depend on your current Abbott medical plan. See details below:

    • BCBS and UHC Members: Contact Abbott Care Coordinators at 888-614-1011.
    • Surest Members: Contact Castlight at 844-711-7113.
    • Kaiser Members: Log into your Castlight account to attest you completed the visit. Go to Castlight > Benefits > Kaiser to complete the attestation steps by December 31, 2025.
    • Cigna Global Health: Log into your Castlight account to attest you completed the visit. Go to Castlight > Benefits > Cigna Global Health to complete the attestation steps by December 31, 2025.
    • Hawaii HMSA: Log into your Castlight account to attest you completed the visit. Go to Castlight > Benefits > Hawaii HMSA to complete the attestation steps by December 31, 2025.

How long does it take for my 2026 wellness credit to show up?

    After completing your preventive care visit, your Provider will submit the claim to your medical plan for payment, which can take up to 90 days.

    After the claim is processed for payment, completion of the visit will be verified with Castlight on your behalf by December 31.

    Kaiser, Cigna Global Health, or Hawaii HMSA plan members: After completing your visit, log into your Castlight account to attest you completed a qualifying preventive care visit. Your Castlight account will update and verify the 2026 wellness credit is earned.

Is the credit showing in Castlight for 2025 or 2026? How do I know if I received the 2025 credit?

    The wellness credit you see in Castlight now is for your 2026 credit. If you earned a 2025 wellness credit, it is listed on your paycheck.

Can my spouse/domestic partner earn a 2026 wellness credit?

    Yes! If your spouse/domestic partner is covered on an Abbott medical plan in 2025, they are eligible to earn a $300 medical plan contribution in 2026. That means, if both you and your covered spouse/partner completes a visit, you can earn $600 on 2026 medical plan contributions.

    Note: Castlight will only display an individual’s wellness credit total.

Why do I see December 31 listed as the deadline in Castlight?

    Castlight shows the deadline for them (Castlight) to receive verification that the preventive care visit was completed by September 30, 2025. Verification varies by medical plan, so please see the section above for more details.

If I am not enrolled in an Abbott medical plan now, but I elect coverage for 2026, can I still earn the 2026 wellness credit?

    No. Employees and their spouse/domestic partners enrolled in a 2026 Abbott medical plan are eligible to earn the 2027 wellness credit toward their 2027 medical plan contributions.

How to Get Your Biometric Screening

Complete a free and confidential biometric screening through Quest Diagnostics. This simple blood draw will help you identify risks and areas for improvement.

Use your Castlight account to book your Quest Biometric Screening at a local Patient Service Center. Sign into Castlight and select Benefits > Quest Diagnostics to make your appointment.

November 30 was the deadline to complete a biometric screening in 2025. Watch for a new opportunity in January 2026 to get a screening. While you can earn Castlight points for completing a biometric screening through Quest Diagnostics, it does not qualify as a preventive care visit and will not earn a 2026 wellness credit.

HOW TO GET A FLU SHOT

A flu shot is a simple way to protect yourself and those around you from the flu.

Abbott medical plan participants and their covered dependents can visit their in-network physician or an in-network convenient care clinic for their free flu shot. If you go out-of-network, your flu shot is covered once you meet your deductible and pay coinsurance. Contact your medical plan provider to learn more and access your free preventive benefits. If you’re in the HIP PPO or Traditional PPO plans, call the Abbott Care Coordinators at 888-614-1011.

All of the information in your Castlight account is completely confidential. Abbott will not have access to your personal health information. The only information that will be shared with Castlight is that a preventive care visit was completed. No details on the type of screening or visit are ever shared with Abbott or Castlight. One of the reasons Abbott partners with Castlight, an independent company, is to help you feel confident that personal results will not be reported to Abbott.
